Revamped show opens without hot tubs

Hot tub distributors and specialist wet leisure companies who have previously exhibited at the UK Pool & Spa Expo and Hot Tub Living Expo have not been lured to the new BodyPower: Fitness Trade Show.

New Events, as part of a high-profile collaborating with their BP: Fitness Trade Show counterparts, had hoped that another reboot of their wet leisure exhibitions would prove to be an attractive proposition to leading hot tub product suppliers who had supported their previous wet leisure showcase outings at the Birmingham NEC.

Throughout the various name and schedule changes of the New Events format for wet leisure exhibitors a number of distributors had stayed loyal during five consecutive appearances, including two shows in 2015, while a host of hot tub brands have significantly increased their dealer networks in recent years as a result of their stints as exhibitors at the UK Pool & Spa Expo and the Hot Tub Living Expo.

These include the Aqua Warehouse Group, who distribute the L.A Spas and Vita Spas hot tubs and swim spas; Spa Solutions, who distribute Alps Spas and Viking Spas; Superior Spas, and Wellis; as well as specialist accessories and water treatment brands including O-Care.

Richard and his exhibition team were busy promoting the new Vita Spa VL4 as part of the launch promotion for the swim spa model and its xStream Force Jet Propulsion System and anti-turbulence technology.

Although exhibitor numbers had dipped at last year’s Hot Tub Living Expo, Wellis distributor and Superior Spas Managing Director Rob Carlin promoted increased dealer growth and record UK sales for the Hungarian manufacturer; as did exclusive UK and European Distributor of the USA manufactured Alps Spas and Viking Spas brands and Spa Solutions chief Anthony Schneikert; while Richard Hart and his Aqua Warehouse exhibition team promoted the flourishing Aqua Spa Supplies division and new Vita Spa VL4 as part of the launch promotion for the swim spa model and its xStream Force Jet Propulsion System and anti-turbulence technology.

Award-winning Marquis and Vita Spa hot tub and swim spa retailer and 1 Stop Spas chief Chris Brady also used the format last time round to highlight his launch of the SpaTech Training scheme; while promoting various DryCase and SteelCore products to trade visitors; including SteelCore Security Straps for hot tubs and swim spas as part an exclusive UK distribution deal.

As part of the effort by New Events and the BP: Fitness Trade Show organisers BodyPower Ltd to create the ultimate gathering of fitness and wet leisure wellness products and professionals under one roof, a dedicated Pool and Spa section had been lined up and promoted to previous exhibitors and prospective hot tub and swim spa exhibitors during the summer ahead of this year’s two-day event, which has completed its first outing today and continues tomorrow from 9am to 5pm; after replacing the former Leisure Industry Week (LIW) event in the exhibition schedule.

The only wet leisure brand that has returned as an exhibitor from last year’s Hot Tub Living Expo, which was hosted in October at the NEC, is Aqua Bike UK.

“There are no hot tub or swim spa company exhibitors at the BP: Fitness Trade Show only Aqua Bike,” said a spokesperson for New Events.
