Spas to star at SPATEX 2018

SPATEX organisers are taking advantage of the two-month countdown to the wet leisure showcase by announcing that they are targeting hot tub and swim spa specialist visitors with a ‘spas are the star’ promotion.

With two months to go to the doors open on the 22nd edition, taking place from Tuesday, January 30, to Thursday, February 1, organiser Michele Bridle has reported that, thanks to a late stampede for stands at the UK’s only dedicated wet leisure show, SPATEX 2018 will now have an increased floorplan at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena in order to accommodate the additional demand.

Hot tub and pool product powerhouse Certikin, who supply the Caldera Spas and Fantasy Spas brands from USA manufacturing giant Watkins Wellness, will be returning to the West Midlands venue with a large stand presence to build on the success gained from promoting an extensive portfolio of products during consecutive SPATEX appearances.

Aqua Warehouse Group, who supply leading USA brands including the Vita Spa hot tubs and swim spas, and its Aqua Spa Supplies division, will also be among the contingent of British companies promoting their hot tub, swim spa and wet leisure products and related services to the trade audience during the three-day exhibition.

Specialist UK-based USA product distributor Spa Crest Europe, which distributes the Tuff Spas brand along with the wide range of Spa Crest options, has been a SPATEX loyalist for many years and is extending the run of consecutive appearances at the Ricoh Arena; which will also see the return of UK-based distributor Superior Spas and European hot tub and swim spa manufacturing heavyweights Aquavia Spa, and Wellis.

Fledgling training service provider SpaTech Training is among the large list of other companies swelling the exhibitor ranks and promoting various hot tub and swim spa product lines and services including: Be Well Spas, BISHTA, Elite Spas, GMT Spas International, Golden Coast, Hydrospares, Megaspa UK, Morgan Bros Leisure, O-Care, Pacific Spas Benelux BV, Passion Spas, Plastica Ltd, Pollet Pool Group, Riptide Pools, SCP UK, Spaeuro, and Villeroy & Boch.

Increased demand for exhibitor stands has provided SPATEX organiser Michele Bridle with a position that she is delighted to have to contend with; especially as the exhibition now has the capability to promote the fact that there will be a bumper crop of ‘spa stars’ at SPATEX 2018.

“It’s a great position to be in,” reported Michele. “With lots of new exhibitors, many of them spa companies, plus an exciting new seminar and Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (ISPE) Workshop programme.

“The only place to be in January is the Ricoh Arena. With companies coming from as far away as Canada and America, there is a truly international feel about the show.”

Repeating the winning formula of a double seminar programme, Michele also revealed that SPATEX is hosting a record bumper number of seminars; with 46 currently lined up for visitors.

Meeting the specific needs and interests of spa operators, the seminars include topics such as: ‘The Hidden Dangers of Spas’, by Robbie Phillips of the Swimming Teachers’ Association, on Tuesday, January 30, which is scheduled for 20 minutes from 11am to 11:20am in Arena 2. On Wednesday, January 31, there will be a talk by Tony Carter from Bowman on a new approach to hot tub and spa heating with faster heat up and lower energy costs; which is scheduled to run from 11:30am to 11:50am in Arena 1.

“Representing a wealth of free, vital knowledge, the popular ISPE Workshops will have a whole new feel, with new titles and new speakers; plus an update of some of the old favourites,” said Michele.

“The programme covers all areas of the pool and spa trade, both commercial and domestic and includes sessions on new Standards and Guidance that affect all in the pool and spa trade.  Attendees will receive certificates of attendance and CPD points on relevant sessions.”
