Dealers gain special spring boost

Leading hot tub and swim spa retailers have been given a sales and marketing boost by landing prestigious BISHTA accolades at the British Pool and Hot Tub Awards ahead of the busy spring season.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are now proudly being promoted in showrooms throughout the UK, following the tenth anniversary edition of the BISHTA Awards as part of the top industry British Pool and Hot Tub Awards ceremony hosted at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, which also included the 40th anniversary of the SPATA Awards and the presentation of the European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Associations (EUSA) EUSA European Pool & Spa Awards.
The awards were presented by BSPF President and BISHTA Chairman Alex Kemsley and BSPF Vice President Will Dando; and SPATA Chairman Richard Carrington; with help from award category sponsors; including Caldera Spas distributor Certikin, Jacuzzi Spa and Bath; and Spa Crest Europe among the representation from the hot tub distribution specialists.
This year was an exceptional awards event as members of the European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Associations (EUSA) joined EUSA President for 2016 and 2017 Andreas Petridis and EUSA President for 2018 and 2019 Mille Örnmark to hold their European Pool & Spa Awards and there was also the re-presentation of the ISPE 2017 Awards overseen by the ISPE President John Cheek.
British former track and field athlete Sally Gunnell OBE DL was a special guest at the ceremony and received a standing ovation from the audience, as she remains the only woman ever to hold four major track titles concurrently, those being the Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles.
Birtley-based Artesian Spas specialist dealership North Spas continued an impressive run of ‘Golden’ achievements during successive BISHTA Awards ceremonies with top accolades in the ‘Residential Hot Tubs £7,000 to £14,000’ and ‘Residential Hot Tubs £14,000 and Over’ categories.
After completing a successful transition to new premises in 2017, Cannock-based Jacuzzi specialist dealership All Weather Leisure was rewarded by BISHTA with the Gold Award for the ‘Showroom of the Year’ category; ahead of Billinghay-based American Whirlpool, Marquis and Vita Spa dealership 1 Stop Spas and Cardiff-based Caldera Spas specialist All Swim who landed joint Silver Award recognition for their exemplary showrooms.
Washington-based Jacuzzi and Aquavia Spa supplier Euphoria Lifestyle, pictured with Sally Gunnell (centre), also landed a Gold Award for ‘Best Use of Digital Media’.
British manufacturer RotoSpa took the top accolade and Gold Award status in the ‘Hot Tubs in a Holiday Setting’ category; while thriving Artesian and Marquis dealership Complete Spas landed Gold in the ‘Hot Tub Happiness’ category.
Double Gold Award winners Hot Tub Suppliers and Hydropool Devon also had a good result on the night from the BISHTA Awards; while other big winners during the evening were Wensum Pools; who were the overall winners of the ‘Peter Geekie Award for Retail Excellence’ sponsored by Certikin; and XL Pools, who won three SPATA Gold Awards, as well as ‘The Dick Millward Trophy for Pool Contractor of the Year’ and the ‘Outstanding Pool of the Year Award’. Neil Bevan of Tanby Pools, meanwhile, was the recipient of the ‘Paul Kite Award for the Pool Star of the Year’.
Portrait Pools (Silver) and Cheshire Wellness (Bronze) also gained prestigious European accolades recognition in the Domestic Indoor Pools category of the EUSA Awards ceremony.
