Retailer issues will be addressed by a powerful voice that has been created by members of the International Hot Tub Association and the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals agreeing to merge in a formidable alliance.
The Board of Directors of the International Hot Tub Association (IHTA) and the Association of Pool
& Spa Professionals (APSP) voted unanimously on the historic agreement in November to work as a single entity. Members of the IHTA, which was formed in 2008, will merge with the APSP following the decision that is intended to unite the hot tub industry in the USA and its involvement around the globe.
IHTA President Bob Lauter has welcomed the decision by saying the time was now right to forge a new path for the entire hot tub industry.
“Both organisations realise there is strength in numbers and we are ready to speak with one voice on important issues that impact hot tubs,” said Bob, who revealed that IHTA members will now become APSP members and be entitled to the same benefits outlined in information being sent out about renewing under the new agreement.
“We welcome IHTA members with open arms and look forward to jointly advocating and promoting hot tubs,” said APSP President and CEO Richard Gottwald.
