Inaugural Innovation Awards at Interbad

Visitors to Interbad 2014 in Germany who cast their vote in the inaugural Innovation Awards will get the chance to win a luxury wellness weekend prize for two just over the border in Austria.

Showcasing spas technology, swimming pools, sauna, physiotherapy and wellness, the international exhibition, running from October 21 to 24, at Messe, Stuttgart, also has an additional first-ever ‘International Business Day’ included into the Interbad schedule. It will be hosting over 500 exhibitors and welcoming around 16,000 visitors from more than 50 countries, including wet leisure retailers from the UK, during the four-day event.

Physiotherm standPhysiotherm; which made its debut as a UK Pool and Spa Expo exhibitor at the Birmingham NEC this year, with London-based Sales Consultant Andrew Cooke at the helm to promote the company’s patented Lavatech and SensoCare heat technology to hot tub retailers; is now in the running to be recognised at Interbad’s first ever award ceremony to recognise innovation achievements.

The specialist infrared cabins company; inspired by mountaineer, skier and alpinist Luis Schwarzenberger; has entered its ‘RONDO’ low-temperature infrared cabin for consideration by thousands of Interbad visitors ahead of the award ceremony at the trade only exhibition.

“The health side of this business is amazing and it is something that we are looking to promote to the hot tub market,” said Andrew Cooke.

Other entries on display in the Innovation Area and vying for the Interbad visitor’s highest number of votes will include a ‘Fortis’ sauna chair for physically handicapped people from Saunasella Oy; a ‘Aktiwa-w 100’ activated carbon honeycomb structure for water treatment, from Hydrotec Handels; a ‘MIDA mat’ fully automatic backwash valve from Midas Pool & Fountain Products; as well as a ‘SMARTWAVE’, shower panel with water contact from Franke Aquarotter .

Presentation of the first, second and third place winners will take place on the last day of the event in the Innovation Area at 10am. All visitors who take part in the voting for the awards will be entered into a prize draw to win a wellness weekend for two people in the Eurotherm resort of Bad Schallerbach in Austria, inclusive of accommodation and entry to the spa area.

This year the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry is also organising the additional ‘first’ for Interbad in the form of an ‘International Business Day’ with events in English as part of the Congress for Pool and Bath Technology.

The Congress for Pool and Bath Technology programme will include a guided tour of Interbad, plus a series of Congress modules under the banner of ‘Energy and environmental sustainability in European swimming facilities. It will then be rounded off with a tour of Stuttgart swimming pools on Friday, October 24.

An additional key element of Interbad will be the Spa Market Conference being run during the first two days of the trade fair and this is scheduled to include podium discussions and speaker presentations.

One of the topic blocks will be covering ‘Marketing 2014’ that is set to focus on the trend of ‘escapism’ from within the marketing and media sector. A complete programme can be found at www.spa-business.eu with information on the speakers and how to register ahead the Spa Market Conference.
