Expansion with £2million turnover target

Expanding HotSpring hot tub dealership UK Leisure Living has unveiled a dedicated new swim spa centre showroom as part of a target plan to double in size and create a £2million turnover this year.

Swim spas by southern hemisphere manufacturer Vortex Spas, which are exclusively supplied to UK dealers by Spa Solutions, are now included in the increased options for customers. They have the choice of the Aqua Lap, which is the largest single zone swim spa from Vortex Spas and comes in four variations the ‘Pro’, ‘Pro Plus’ and ‘Extreme’ with additional swim jet capalities; and other models such as the Aqua Gym Pro, Aqua Gym Max Pro, Aqua Lounge Pro, and dual-chamber Hydrozone design. All incorporate Hydroglow Jets and timber-free Permaframe construction with a lifetime ‘no rot’ warranty.

They are part of an impressive list of top quality products, along with a wide range of WhatSpa? Best Buy Award-winning HotSpring options that are set to include enhanced HotSpot models from Watkins Wellness, as part of the Mochdre showroom capacity expansion to more than 5,000 sq ft.

UK Leisure Living Managing Director and Welsh SME Business Awards ‘Businessman of the Year’ winner Gareth Jones, pictured right, who is currently promoting the company’s positive action to prevent the spread of coronavirus, has also announced that the acquisition of Carbon Zero Renewables in St Asaph; with its solar, leisure and hot tub services and sales, is now part of the same group.

The new-look facility with its additional extra Swim Spa Centre space at the Old Creamery on Station Road now has the capability to display over 30 hot tubs and swim spas, as well as promotion for Holiday Park hot tubs, and the facility also incorporates wet testing capability with showers and changing cubicles, an area for children and families to relax, decking and renewable energy displays, as well as a kitchen and offices.

Gareth reported that UK Leisure Living, which is listed in the top five businesses in North Wales at the recent Fast Growth 50 Awards, is aiming to increase sales of hot tubs by 30 per cent in capitalising on a boom in demand that the company has experienced during the past two years in the market.

“We’ve sold more than 400 hot tubs over the last two years, but I think the consumer uncertainty around Brexit, and the investment we made last year, saw us experience some transition,” divulged Gareth.

“We still did well but I’m always striving for better and am confident with the new Swim Spa Centre in place we will achieve £2million turnover. The swim spas are quite unique and can range from 12-24ft in length, making them popular with swimmers and for resistance training.

“The technology is incredible. People are more than welcome to come along and wet test them, and there has already been a lot of interest in anticipation of the opening of the extended showroom.”

Preparations are also underway for UK Leisure Living to host the second North Wales Hot Tub Expo in May, following the success of last summer’s event to generate extra consumer interest in the benefits of owning hot tubs and utilising advanced hydrotherapy functionality.

“It’s all about the customer experience, that’s paramount to everything we do because people don’t want to be given the ‘hard sell’ or rushed into making what is an important decision,” said Gareth.

“The swim spas in particular, are an attraction, there is a lot of buzz around them and many people have never seen one before. It’s something a little different and we’re excited to have them on display.”

He added: “There is a lot of scope for development in this sector, in tandem with the tourism market in North Wales, so we will be looking to take advantage of that in the coming months.

“We have some exciting partnerships to reveal, and growth will include new staff and further improvements, so it’s going to be a good year.”

Gareth and his team have also been promoting the fact that they are fully cleaning all the surfaces within the showroom daily as part of the dealership’s proactive initiative to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“As a leading business, we are taking some extra steps to keep our team and visitors to the showroom extra safe,” reported Gareth; “Every night all surfaces that come into regular contact, will be wiped clean including door handles, computers and phones.

“Company vans will be equipped with hand sanitiser, for when they attend people’s homes for deliveries, services and repairs. We want to ensure our customers know we are taking extra steps to keep them and our team members safe.

“Proper operation, maintenance and disinfection (e.g. with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs, should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.

“Hot tubs are a safe environment to use and maybe a great investment at this time. This will be a stressful time for many and a hot tub will be a great place to relax.”
